SL-Labs Psychology Skills

Welcome to SL-Labs at University of Derby.

This site is dedicated to bringing you the very best teaching and research taking place in the virtual world Second Life. University of Derby Psychology Department has created a series of teaching and research sites in Second Life and has its own teaching Island. Our Psychology teaching and research facilities are currently based on Education UK Island where we work closely with other educational organisations from across the UK. Our project on Education UK Island is investigating new methods of teaching in virtual environments and is piloting exciting cutting-edge technologies. Also, our research facility is investigating how people with Autism Spectrum Disorder utilise virtual environments and how this may be used to benefit people with Autism and other developmental disorders.
